Infants and Wobblers

Babies are very special at Lake Murray Child Development Center.  We designed our infant room to create a warm and secure environment for infants.   From the peaceful atmosphere to the big rocking chairs where babies are held and fed their bottles.

Families develop their infant’s daily schedule and our sensitive caregivers at LMCDC maintain individual schedules to meet the needs of our infants and ensure consistency between home and daycare.

Our caregivers spend a lot of time cuddling and talking to babies, instilling trust and security.  They encourage motor development and movement on our colorful cushioned play area allowing babies to develop at their own pace.

Safety and health are our top priorities.  We have separate facilities for babies, rooms for the younger infants and rooms for our older infants “Wobblers” who are already on the move.  Each room setting has enough safe challenges that encourage movement and give the infant a protected environment and the wobblers, more opportunities for developmental activities and the freedom to explore their space.

The Wobbler room transitions young infants to toddler status.  Young children are introduced to self help skills such as eating and formulating new vocabulary.

Our teachers at Lake Murray CDC appreciate that young children learn best by using all their senses and actively explore people and objects within their environment. We provide plenty of play and stimulating opportunities for the young child’s developing brain.
