Summer at Lake Murray Child Development

Get ready for an exciting and adventurous summer at Lake Murray Child Development Center!  Our summer program is a unique blend of fun and learning in a safe and nurturing environment.  We have designed a program to meet the needs and interests of the children at LMCDC ensuring their summer is a fun-filled and memorable experience.

Lake Murray CDC facilities are second to none in the Lexington and surrounding areas.  Our beautiful, tree-lined campus features a Child Care Center for children aged 6 weeks to 4 years of age and The Afterschool facility – “Enrichment through Education Building,” for school age children, grades Kindergarten to 5th grade.  We offer a regulation size soccer field for team and individualized sports, Basketball Court, Sand Volleyball, Tetherball and Badminton spread over four acres and over half an acre of structured playground.  We offer a fun and safe environment for children to play, make friends, enjoy games, sports and explore new ideas

Our programs are designed to provide young children with stimulating activities while developing cognitive, social and emotional g rowth, independence and self-confidence.


Summer Calendars are carefully planned into weekly themes and include a variety of fun and exciting excursions and special visitors.  Our featured guests share interesting and informative stories and lectures covering a wide field of interests.  The summer program includes stimulating activities such as Science and Discovery, Arts and Crafts, Computers and Technology, Sports, Drama, Literacy activities, Water Play, Field Trips and much more.

School Aged Children

Learning does not end in the summer.  Our summer program for school aged children is designed to be both fun and educational. Our students participate in planned daily activities, field trips and in-house activities.

Students alternate between indoor and outdoor activities to help relieve those long, hot days while providing a variety of stimulating and age appropriate activities.  In-house activities include Arts and Crafts, Cooking, Team Sports, Games, Contests, and Computers.  All activities are designed for children with varying skill levels.  Students can choose outdoor activities such Basketball, Sand Volleyball, Badminton or Tetherball.   Our regulation size soccer field, allows students to "spread their wings" and make the most of the beautiful South Carolina weather.
